Richard Schure

President

Richard Schure is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering at the University of Washington, where he also completed his Bachelor of Science with Departmental Honors in the same field. As the incoming President of the GPSS, Richard aims to build on recent successes in union negotiations and address critical issues facing the graduate student community. He is committed to increasing union. Richard believes in the power of collaboration and open communication to achieve meaningful change and is dedicated to representing the interests of graduate and professional students at the University of Washington.

Kana Saarni

Vice President of Internal Affairs (VPIN)

Kana is a second-year master’s student pursuing a Master of Communications in Digital Media. She grew up in Vancouver BC, where she pursued her BA in Political Science at UBC. Kana is passionate about the intersection of governance and communications and hopes to bring this lens into her work this year. As VP of Internal, she’s excited to plan events that build inclusivity and belonging in the grad student community! Other than GPSS, you can find her thrifting, wheel-throwing, or nose-deep in a fantasy novel!

Mykhail Lembke

Vice President of External Affairs (VPEX)

Mykhail is a second year MPA student at the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance with an interest in social policy or leadership and decision making. Mykhail grew up on the east side of the state in the small town of Goldendale, but has lived in Seattle the past seven years. For his undergraduate degree, Mykhail studied Political Science at the UW with minors in Diversity and LSJ (Law, Societies, and Justice). Mykhail has worked in the state Legislature the past three sessions, as an intern, a communications specialist and as a civic education coordinator. Mykhail enjoys playing volleyball, running, and firmly believes pineapple belongs on pizza.

Edith Dale

Vice President of Equity and Inclusion (VPEI)

Edith is a second-year Master of Public Health – Global Health student, with a multicultural background that includes Kenyan, Korean, and British heritage. Having lived on three continents, she brings a unique and diverse perspective to her role and a strong passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion. A proud double dawg, Edith earned her Bachelor’s degree in Medical Anthropology and Global Health at UW, where she co-founded the Non-Traditional Student Association to support students facing similar challenges. Passionate about maternal and child health, Edith is dedicated to advancing global health equity and advocating for a more inclusive and compassionate university environment. In her free time, you can find her engaging in mommy duties, delving into books, hiking, baking, or swimming.

Noah Nguyen Hough

Vice President of Administration (VPA)

Noah is a second-year graduate student at the College of Engineering, pursuing a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering. Originally from Vietnam, she earned her undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering from the University of Washington-Bothell. Over the years, Noah has held various roles in higher education and is deeply committed to promoting educational equity. She is an esteemed recipient of both the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer and Graduate Scholar Scholarships. An avid hiker and backpacker, Noah loves exploring the great outdoors. In her leisure time, she delves into books and indulges in her favorite sitcoms.

Ryan Wicklund

Vice President of Finance (VPFB)

Ryan is a computer science major from UW Tacoma and a current Master of Public Administration student under the Daniel J. Evans school of public policy. He has a passion for student government and was the speaker of the senate for ASUWT and a voting member of the services and activities fee committee 2023-2024. He has had a major hand in campus improvement on the Tacoma campus, and is excited by more opportunities to do the same here at the larger UW Seattle campus. He looks forward to continuing his student government work and specifically supporting the student body as best he can.
